LG Rolls Out Remote Repair for Faulty Optimus Smartphones

LG finally realized how faulty their smartphones are.  As an LG Optimus 2X user, I can’t feel that it’s running a dual core processor due to frequent unresponsiveness of the LG Home Screen and force close error on some applications.

As a solution to the faulty smartphones,  LG Electronics launches the software upgrade for LG premium Optimus phones like 2X, Black and 3D.  The update aims to have LG’s repair staff to gain remote access to the devices for diagnosing faults.

The roll out was started in South Korea. The Remote Call application and the Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) system will now be deployed out across the world. Consumers will not need to pay a visit to an LG Customer Information Center any more whenever, a problem in their smartphones surfaces; thanks to the services’ instant support via a 3G or Wi-Fi network.

Regarding the security, LG technical staff will not be able to access any personal information that includes emails, messages, calendars or pictures, unless the users consent.

Premium Optimus owners in Europe, the Asia Pacific region and South and Central America will be able to avail of LG’s remote customer care services throughout the second half of the year, hopefully.
